THE Confederation of African Football will hear an appeal by Zimbabwe to be reinstated as hosts of next January’s African Nations Cup finals, officials said on Tuesday. CAF president Issa Hayatou and members of his executive committee will meet a Zimbabwean delegation expected to include high-level government ministers in Accra, Ghana, on Saturday. CAF said last month they were taking the tournament away from Zimbabwe because of delays in building and upgrading stadiums for the finals and the absence of government guarantees to fund the 16-team competition. A deadline for bids for a replacement host country has been set for March 10 and a decision will be announced on March 15, CAF said.
