EU DELEGATION IN SA

A DELEGATION of legislators from the European Union have begun a one-week visit to South Africa. The team will seek ways to overcome obstacles to cementing the free trade agreement between the EU and South Africa. Frene Ginwala, Speaker of the National Assembly, invited the team to the country. Italy’s Roberto Mezzaroma, leader of the delegation, says EU investment in South Africa will boost economic growth. He also said the European Parliament regrets its failure to approve the recent trade agreement between South Africa and the EU.
