THREE South African films took top honours at the Panafrican Film and Television Festival in Ouagadougou, Burkino Fasa on the weekend. Fools, a film by South African director Ramadan Suleiman won the prize for the best debut, while the award for the best documentary film went to Masseko Zola for The Life and Time of Sara Baartman. Best actor award was won by Fats Boukhlane for Chikin Biznis, which also won best script for writer Mtutuzeli Matshoba.
