SWAZI DAM ON THE CARDS

THE Swazi government confirmed on Wednesday that it has allocated R70-million for the construction of a huge dam in the north-west of the country. Work on the dam, which will form part of the Komati River basin water scheme, is due to start this month. The dam will be operational within a year. In the meantime, plans are under way to relocate people in three chiefdoms who will be affected by the project.
