‘UNSAFE’ POLICE MUSEUM CLOSED

THE police museum in Pretoria was last week closed to visitors after the building was declared unsafe, police said on Wednesday. Management Services head Commissioner Louis Eloff said in a statement a prohibition notice was served on the museum on Friday in terms of the Occupational Health and Safety Act. About 30 staff moved to another building, also in Pretorius Street, and museum-related activities such as the archives and research sections, administration and correspondence will continue as normal.
