CATS WANT CONTINUITY — AND MARKGRAAFF

THE CATS rugby side will propose that Andre Markgraaff be appointed to a minimum two-year term as coach this week. Cats CEO Johan Botes will discuss the matter with South African Rugby Union chief Riaan Oberholzer on Wednesday. Markgraaff’s success and reputation as a top forward coach have lent weight to arguments that continuity and player rapport mandate a long stay at the helm. While his team has been plagued with injuries Markgraaff has done impressive work with the Cats, including a shock win over the Wellington Hurricanes last weekend. The team face the Northern Bulls at Ellis Park this weekend.
