BRAZIL THRASH ZAMBIA

THREE-time champion Brazil routed Zambia 5-1 on Sunday to ease into the second round of the World Under-20 Youth Soccer Championship. Brazil, which finished Group F with seven points, ovecame an early 1-0 deficit on goals by Ronaldo, Fabio Aurelio, Fernando Baiano, Mancini and Rodrigo Gral. Zambia, making its first appearance in the tournament, opened the scoring in the ninth minute on captain Andrew Sinkala’s goal off a pass from Miseck Lungu. But Brazil bounced back with Ronaldo scoring on a header in the 30th minute following a long pass from Aurelio, and it was all over from there.
