ORLANDO Pirates ground down Cape Town Spurs 2-1 while Jomo Cosmos spanked Hellenic 2-0. Pirates went ahead 2-0 against Spurs on goals by Nigerian Sam Pam and Phumlani Mkhize. Spurs came back with one in the 80th minute on a strike from Vassili Sofiadelis, but both teams gave lacklustre preformances with poor finishing and attacking.
Meanwhile Jomo Cosmos midfielder Brian Sebapole carried his side past a hapless Hellenic playing a role in both goals in the 2-0 match. Hellenic’s Bradley August bothered Cosms, but received little support from hs teamates. Sebapole got his strike just before halftime on a volley past a helpless Marumo Dithebe. The Cosmos midfielder blasted another at Dithebe early in the second half and the rebound was coolly finished by Manuel Bucuane.
