SOCCER STAR’S CAR NOT STOLEN

POLICE on Thursday said the car that Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lifa Gqosha was driving when he was arrested and shot was not stolen. The Star newspaper reports that an unnamed investigating officer confirmed Gqosha’s claim that the car belongs to him, when the battered soccer star appeared before the Protea Magistrate’s Court in Soweto on Thursday. Gqosha (31) is charged with possession of a suspected stolen vehicle, assaulting a police officer, escaping from police custody and resisting arrest. During the arrest police shot him in the left arm. He was released on R2000 bail on Thursday.
