UDM SUPPORTERS IN COURT

OVER a hundred United Democratic Movement supporters are due to appear in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday on charges of trespassing, SABC news reported. Police spokesperson Patrys Greyling said 113 people were arrested after invading municipal land in Kagiso on the West Rand on Sunday. The invaders were warned to vacate the land but instead climbed into stationary police vehicles. UDM spokesperson Bheki Ntanzi said the party’s supporters did not invade the property as they had been promised the land by the town council. He said police and council officials shot at people and demolished shacks without warning.
