CLIMBER Cathy O’Dowd and her team will resume their attempt to climb the northern slope of Mount Everest in Nepa this week after a rescue attempt set them back. Punt Geselsradio reports on Monday that the team is expected back at the advance base camp, which is about 6500 metres above sea level, on Wednesday. If O’Dowd manages to reach the northern slope, she will become the first woman ever to reach the summit of the highest mountain on earth from both the southern and northern slopes. The team ran out of batteries to supply them with power after they had to give up some of their equipment and supplies last week to save a team from the Ukraine.
