RETIEF GOOSEN held on to a share of the lead in the British PGA Championship, tied with current holder Colin Montgomerie. Montgomerie shot a 67 to move into the lead, and Goosen’s 70 put him level with the champion, two shots ahea of the pack. Having dropped two shots to give Montgomerie a share of the lead, Goosen said he planned to play better golf on Monday. Zimbabwe’s Mark McNulty shares third place with Bernhard Langer, and Ernie Els is mired in fifth after a disappointing 74 on the round.
