AZAPO RAISES COMPLAINTS

THE Azanian People’s Organisation (AZAPO)has complained to the Independent Election Commission (IEC)about the abnormalities that allegedly marred the elections. The organisation’s Deputy President Bandelani Nefolovodwe told journalists in a press conference at the Pretoria Media Resource Centre on Wednesday evening that “we have got certain concerns that we have put through to the IEC.” He said that the IEC has allowed people who are not eligible to cast special vote to undertake the process. “Those votes should be declared null and void,” said Nefolovodwe. He further complained that in Kwazulu-Natal certain polling stations had not opened “up until now,” (8:45 pm). He also said that in the Northern Province, voting did not start until late in the afternoon.
