JOCKEY MUTEMARARO DIES AFTER WEEKEND FALL

JOCKEY Jacob Mutemararo died on Tuesday after falling from his horse during the seventh race at Borrowdale Park on Sunday. Mutemararo fell at the 1400m mark while leading the field on Ancient Glory. He was ahead of 18 runners when his left stirrup iron broke, causing him to fall. Several of the horses following were unable to avoid the jockey. The Jockey Club of South Africa says an investigation will be opened into the incident.
