A farm school teacher in the Mondeor area was shot and killed in a classroom on Thursday. Nandi Mhlongo, 31, was conducting classes at the Oliphantsvlei farm pre-school on the Eikenhof/Lenasia Road at about 9.15am. Two men entered the classroom and demanded the whereabouts of the principal. One of the men fired two shots at Mhlongo, hitting her in the chest. The men ran off after the shooting.
