A FEW OF MBEKI’S CABINET SPINE-CHILLING: PAC

THE Pan Africanist Congress said on Thursday some of the appointments to the new Cabinet were so surprising that they were “spine-chilling”. PAC spokesperson Wonder Masombuka said the appointments of Dr Nkosazana Zuma to Foreign Affairs, Patrick Lekota to Defence and Thoko Didiza to Land Affairs were of particular concern. The appointments appeared to be an attempt to bring about changes, but it seemed a little like rearranging the deck-chairs on the Titanic, he said. On the positive side, the PAC welcomed the introduction of women to senior positions in the Cabinet.
