GAUTENG’s new Premier Mbhazima Shilowa named his provincial executive committee on Friday afternoon. Notable by their absence from the new executive are former housing MEC Dan Mofokeng and local government MEC Sicelo Shiceka, as well as previous premier Mothole Motshekga. The only incumbent to retain his portfolio was finance and economic affairs MEC Jabu Moleketi. The rest of the executive is:
Mary Metcalfe: Agriculture, conservation, environment and land affairs;
Peter Skosana: Social services and population development;
Ignatius Jacobs: Education;
Gwen Ramokgopa: Health;
Paul Mashatile: Housing;
Nomvula Mokonyane: Provincial safety and liaison;
Khabisi Mosunkutu: Public transport, roads and works;
Mondli Gungubele: Sport, recreation, arts and culture; and
Trevor Fowler: Development, planning and local government.
