THREE NEW FACES IN RAMATHLODI’S CABINET

THERE are three newcomers to Northern Province’s reshuffled provincial cabinet, which was unveiled by Premier Ngoako Ramatlhodi on Tuesday four days after his inauguration last week. They include Catherine Mabuza and Joe Maswangani as MECs in two new departments created by a partial restructuring of the provincial government. Mabuza previously served in the National Council of Provinces but has been appointed to head a new Office of the Premier. Maswangani, a prominent former national parliamentarian and ANC Youth League deputy president, was appointed MEC for an amalgamated housing, traditional affairs and local government department. Former health MEC Dr Hunadi Mateme was not reappointed to the cabinet and has been replaced by provincial SA Communist Party secretary Sello Moloto.
