NGUBANE IN COURT

THE KwaZulu-Natal MEC of Local Government, Police and Traditional Affairs, Nyanga Ngubane, appeared briefly in the Pietermaritzburg Regional Court on Friday on charges relating to the Arms and Ammunition Act. Ngubane’s co-accused is his son S’gwili Cyril Ngubane, 35. IFP organiser and councillor Gamuntu Sithole,53, also appeared on charges of possession of the barrel of a G3 machine rifle. The three were not asked to plead and the case was postponed to November 8. The charges against Ngubane and his son arise from the recovery of a firearm during a raid on Ngubane’s house at Bulwer in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands on April 15.
