BAFANA Bafana will be delighted to know that key Namibian defender Mohamed Auseb will not be playing in the two countries’ Cosafa Castle Cup quarterfinal in Windhoek on July 31.
Auseb is under suspension after picking up two bookings in Cup matches against Lesotho and Malawi. Namibia will surely feel the star’s loss.
Auseb gives cohesion and ledership to Namibia, and they will be in need of both when facing Moloto’s talent-laden Bafana squad. His absence increases the chances that Bafana Bafana can win this crucial qualifying match.
The last time the two teams met, Namibia humbled South Africa 3-2 in Windhoek under Jomo Sono in last year’s African Nations Cup.
