FORMER Mpumalanga MEC Luckson Mathebula and three other accused appeared in court in the Northern Province on Friday on charges arising from the murder of Aleta Mnisi, Mathebula’s estranged wife. Magistrate Vivian Smith rejected the former MEC’s bail application. Mathebula has been charged with conspiracy to murder, while the others, Jimmy Chauke, Moshe Moses Mathebula and Moses Sambo, the alleged gunman, are all charged with murder. The trial of the four has been temporarily separated for further individual bail applications. Chauke is to appear in the Mhala Regional court on August 13, Luckson Mathebula will appear in the Lulekane Regional Court on July 22, while Moses Mathebula and Sambo will appear on July 28 at the Ritavi Regional Court. The four have all been remanded in custody.
