NATIONAL SOFTBALL TRIALS

SOFTBALL SA will be holding national trials for men and women in Bloemfontein on July 31 and August 1 1999 at the Rocklands stadium in order to select teams to participate in the Africa Cup scheduled for September 13-17 in Johannesburg. For the men there is the additional incentive of travelling to Hong Kong to play in a tournament scheduled for November 18-21 in which five other teams, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, the Phillipines and the host country, will participate. This international tournament will be used by coach Monty Scott as a build-up to the men’s World Cup tournament to be held in East London in July next year.
