THE Nigerian government is seeking help from academics on how to combat erosion has already eaten away much of Lagos’s main tourist beach. President Olusegun Obasanjo appealed on Monday to marine experts to offer a solution as he toured Lagos’s Bar Beach, a three kilometre beachfront district popular with residents and visitors to the city. Erosion in the past few weeks has stripped away a vast section of the Atlantic Coast beach, endangering the popular area lined with beach bars, night clubs and eating spots.
