SOUTH Africa’s season of injury woes continued on Saturday, with centre Andre Snyman ruled out for the season after suffering a fractured dislocation of the ankle in Saturday’s 34-18 Tri-Nations defeat against New Zealand at Minolta Loftus in Pretoria. “Andre will be in plaster for eight weeks,” disappointed Springbok coach Nick Mallett confirmed after the match. Snyman, who was playing his first Test after a lengthy lay-off due to injury to knee ligaments, hurt the ankle while scoring a try in the first half. The latest set-back means he will miss the World Cup. Snyman’s name will be added to an injury list which already includes centres Pieter Muller and Brendan Venter, as well as flyhalf Henry Honiball.
