AN ASIAN subsidiary of a South Africa’s Dimension Data (Didata) has joined forces with Samsung to bring voice, video and data products to market, Didtata said in a statement on Thursday. Datacraft Asia, owned by JSE-listed Didata, has signed a three-year deal to distribute and support Samsung’s range of “convergent technology” devices, which transmit and receive voice, video and data. Didata suggests the devices and technologies will “sideline the PC” in the statement. Datacraft Asia is listed on the Stock Exchange of Singapore and is a major systems integrator in the region. In terms of the deal, Datacraft Asia will market, distribute and support Samsung’s leading-edge technology, including cable TV network digital modems, ADSL (asymmetric digital subscriber line) modems and Internet video phones through its extensive existing network.
