PHOSA SUING MPUMA PREMIER

FORMER Mpumalanga premier Mathews Phosa confirmed on Thursday that he’s proceeding with a R1-million defamation suit against his successor, Ndaweni Mahlangu. Mahlangu allegedly implicated Phosa in the multi-million rand promissory note scandal that rocked Mpumalanga earlier this year. Phosa’s lawyer Tanya Bremmer says she has received firm instructions from her client to go ahead with the legal proceedings. “We are going to pursue this litigation. We are going to expedite it to ensure that we get a hearing date by the end of the year.” She says she hopes to have summonses ready by next week Wednesday to be served on the premier.
