A MIDDELBURG court is scheduled to sentence on Monday two white men who beat a Zion Christian Church priest to death in an apparent racist attack in Marble Hall last year. The men, Marthinus Frederick Erasmus and Phillip Hopewell Maritz were found guilty on Friday by the Middelburg Circuit of the Pretoria High Court in their roles in the killing of ZCC priest Malebo Frank Serame, and assaults on his companions, Sephuramu Mahloele and Shimane Joseph Aphane. Serame and four ZCC members were attacked while they were searching for two buses carrying worshippers. The buses got lost on the way to a church service at ZCC headquarters, at Moria in the Northern Province.
