A RWANDAN court has sentenced two men to death for their part in genocide against Tutsis and moderate Hutus in 1994, Radio Rwanda announced on Thursday. It said a special court in Ruhengeri had Wednesday sentenced Gaspard Ndinkabandi and Boniface Ruhamyankaka to death for genocide and other crimes against humanity.” The court was told that the two had taken part in genocide against Tutsis in both 1991 and 1994 in an area where some 3,000 Tutsis had been living. Since the start of trials of alleged genocide participants, Rwandan courts have sentenced some 100 people to death. Twenty-two were publicly executed April 24.
