FRESH MEETINGS ON DRC

LEADERS from Uganda and Rwanda met South Africa’s Foreign Minister Nkosazana Zuma on Sunday in yet another attempt to end the Congolese conflict, the state radio reported. The meeting at Rwakitira, about 260km southwest of Kampala, was attended by Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni and Rwanda’s Vice President Paul Kagame, who is also defense minister, Radio Uganda said. The broadcast gave no details, saying only the leaders met to discuss the “peace process in Congo, among other issues.” Zuma flew to Uganda on Saturday in an attempt to mediate a dispute among the rebels over who should sign a fragile peace accord.
