CHAUKE LOVER IN COURT AGAIN

THE bail application of Dudu Nkosi, girlfriend of alleged heist kingpin Collin Chauke, was delayed again on Monday at the Nelspruit regional court. Nkosi’s bail application was postponed to August 30. Nkosi, who is facing eight new charges of theft and fraud, has been detained for 21 weeks since her arrest with Chauke at her Nelspruit townhouse. At the time, she was charged with harbouring a wanted criminal. Her bail of R1000 was withdrawn in the district court on March 29, when investigators preferred 14 fraud charges against her. The trial against her and former boyfriend, Tom Beck, is scheduled to start on September 30. Meanwhile, Chauke is awaiting trial in Pretoria Central Prison in connection with an alleged R12,5-million cash heist in Arcadia, Pretoria, in October 1997.
