MBEKI ‘TOO TIRED’ FOR MEETING

PRESIDENT Thabo Mbeki was on Monday to tired to leave his aircraft to meet Kenyan Minister of State in the office of President Julius Sunkuli, when it landed at Jomo Kenyatta international airport in Nairobi. Presidential spokesman Parks Mankahlana left the aircraft to explain that Mbeki was asleep, The Star newspaper reported on Tuesday. Mbeki, who was on his way to Libya for an Organisation of African Unity meeting, was expected to address the press in Nairobi. Mankahlana said Mbeki had been in a meeting with Democratic Republic of Congo rebel leaders till dawn on Monday. Mbeki’s stopover in Kenya lasted 55 minutes.
