THE Democratic Party has won another municipal by-election in the North West Province in the rural town of Fochville. The DP polled 211 of the 308 votes, 68,5% of the vote, cast, and follows a DP victory in a by-elected in Stilfontein in August. “It shows our support-base is growing in those areas that previously never supported the DP and we regard this as a positive sign for the future,” the party’s North West chairperson, Paul Swart, said.
