MALI finally clicked at the All Africa Games football tournament on Monday whey they defeated Algeria 2-0 in the final round of Group 1 action. However, it was too little, too late for the highly-rated West Africans, who finished bottom of the standings behind South Africa, surprise packages Uganda and Algeria. While South Africa and Uganda can look forward to semi-final matches on Friday, Mali and Algeria will have to settle for fifth and seventh-place play-offs 24 hours earlier. Salif Bagayoko put the West Africans ahead after 40 minutes on a warm day at a thinly-populated Rand Stadium and Soumaila Coulibaly added a second 11 minutes into the second half.
