MASINGA SAYS HE’LL PLAY

HOME

BAFANA Bafana striker, Phil Masinga, said he’s willing to play home internationals if called on to do so. Masinga had vowed never to play for Bafana Bafana at home after his continued harassment by fans who booed him at every opportunity, the Sowetan reports. Crowd heckling forced his replacement at the Mandela Farewell match. But Masinga said he feels it’s wrong to turn his back on millions of South Africans because a minority has a vendetta against him. “I would definitey play if selected,” he said. He has also denied suggestions that he missed the game against Saudi Arabia because of his decision not to play home games. He said he picked up a serious hamstring injury during off-season training and had to be injected to reduce the pain.
