SA-NIGERIAN TRADE TREATY SOON

SOUTH African deputy President Jacob Zuma on Wednesday urged South African business to go all-out for new trade and investment opportunities in Nigeria. “The possibilities are just limitless,” Zuma told reporters on his return from the two-day inaugural session of the South Africa-Nigeria joint commission in the Nigerian capital of Abuja. He said the advent of democracy in Nigeria had created a climate conducive to business. “One could not help but feel the new breeze of the democratic process of the new government there. I call on business people to seize this opportunity.” Trade and Industry Minister Alec Erwin, who accompanied Zuma to Nigeria, assured business that the new Nigerian constitution offered foreign investors considerable protection.
