THE United Nations has placed the Congolese capital of Brazzaville on phase 3 of its security ratings, thus acknowledging a gradual improvement of the security situation, according to an official statement issued on Monday. The UN had around December and January put Brazzaville on phase five rating following violent clashes between government forces and militias. Following the improved security rating, the world body can now send missions to the DRC. Two delegations from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund are expected in Brazzaville towards the end of October to revive discussions with the government on economic and structural reforms.
