FORMER head of the South African Financial Fiscal Commission Murphison “Murphy” Morobe has been appointed as the new chairman of the South African National Parks Board. The other board members are Praful Bhawan, J Brown, Nomsa Canca, T Khumbane, Tumelo Lobelo-Ratefane, R Maruma, Professor Sue Milton, Nthobi Moahloli, JK Modise, S Njikelana, O Ntuli, Dr Ian Player, Josie Rowe-Setz, ZJ Sithole, Professor Willem Van Riet and Clive Walker. Board members come from various fields, including university lecturers, community development workers, and members of the previous board, and hail from various provinces. SANP head of corporate affairs, Dr Salifou Siddo, said the Board had a three-year mandate to determine policy and oversee its implementation.
