JONAH Lomu’s future remains in doubt at the conclusion of the World Cup tournament. The blockbusting New Zealand wing, who has already scored six tries in four matches in the tournament, is certain to receive a swag of offers to switch codes when his current contract expires. Leading English rugby league club Leeds head Lomu’s suitors and could make an offer that sees him split his time between league and union. Back home in New Zealand, the Auckland Warriors are also planning an offer to Lomu. Meanwhile, Lomu’s manager Phil Kingsley-Jones has said several American football teams are also interested in Lomu, but the Dallas Cowboys have said they have never heard of him. New Zealand officials admitted last week that they were worried that Lomu will abandon the All Blacks after the World Cup. The All Blacks fear that the 24-year-old’s stunning return to form could price him out of negotiations when his current agreement expires at the end of the tournament.
