OWN CORRESPONDENT, Harare | Saturday 2.30pm.
JACQUES Kallis was dismissed for 115 as South Africa built a first innings lead of 192 on the third morning of the test against South Africa on Saturday.
South Africa, who had resumed on 207 for four, were 294 for seven at lunch in reply to Zimbabwe’s 102. Kallis was first to go, adding 14 to his overnight score before being trapped leg before by left-arm seamer Bryan Strang with a ball that pitched on off stump and straightened.
Television replays appeared to show the ball had taken a thin inside edge before hitting Kallis’s pad.
He batted for 340 minutes, faced 268 balls and hit 13 fours and three sixes. Three overs later Grant Flower dived full length to his left at short cover to remove Jonty Rhodes for four off medium pacer Mpumelelo Mbangwa.
Shortly before lunch Lance Klusener’s innings of 25 off 23 balls was ended when he skied a delivery from Mbangwa to long-off where Henry Olonga took the catch. Mark Boucher was unbeaten on 33 at lunch. — Reuters
