OWN CORRESPONDENT, Cape Town | Tuesday 3.45pm.
JOMO Cosmos will be in the line of fire on Wednesday when they meet a rampant Sundowns squad fresh from their 3-1 hammering of Orlando Pirates in Saturday’s Rothmans Cup semifinal.
Sundowns will undoubtedly be full of fight, and coach Paul Dolezar will be expecting the Brazilians to show their mettle against Cosmos.
A strong result against Cosmos at Loftus Stadium will ensure that Sundowns remain firmly in place at the top of the Castle Premiership table.
Dolezar has a full-strength team ready to tackle Cosmos, but defender Muisi Ajao, will miss the clash after being suspended for picking up four bookings.
Matthew Booth will take the place of Ajao.
Wednesday will see eight matches being played with Kaizer Chiefs hosting Ajax Cape Town at the Johannesburg Stadium. Chiefs will be hoping to notch up their sixth win this season.
Chiefs will play in the Caf Cup next year, and making waves in the domestic league will certainly lift their spirits. Chiefs were last in action in the Caf Cup in 1993, and their return will be watched with interest.
In other matches, Free State Stars tackle Santos at Charles Mopeli, Hellenic play Pirates at Greenpoint, AmaZulu take on Classic at Kings Park, Moroka Swallows face Bush Bucks at the Rand Stadium, Mother City match wits with Manning Rangers at Athlone, and Bloemfontein Celtic come to grips with African Wanderers at the Free State Rugby Stadium.
