ALLEGED FREEZER MURDERER UNDER POLICE GUARD

A JOHANNESBURG man who allegedly killed his wife and hid her body in a freezer for more than two weeks at their home will be arrested as soon as he has recovered from a self-inflicted stab wound. The suspect stabbed himself in the throat when police arrived at his house to question him in connection with his wife’s disappearance. He was rushed to hospital and transferred to the Rand Clinic where he is under police guard. Police spokesman Superintendent Chris Wilken says he will not be arrested yet, otherwise police will have to cover his hospital bills. The Star reported that a private investigator who had been hired by a friend of the missing woman went to the house and broke the freezer open. He found the victim’s body frozen in a foetal position with a plastic bag over her head.
