HIGH COST OF LEAGUE TOO MUCH FOR SOME

BOTSWANA Defence Force (BDF) XI have withdrawn from next year’s African Champions League competition saying they cannot afford the high cost of participating in the tournament. The Botswana champions cited the cost of travel and payment of the travelling costs and expenses of the match officials as the reasons for their withdrawal. The Botswana Football Association can replace BDF XI with another club in next year’s Champions League ahead of the November 30 deadline for entries.
