IFP OUTRAGED BY KWAMACHI ATTACK

THE Inkatha Freedom Party has condemned the murder of six people early on Wednesday morning at remote KwaMachi on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast. Six men, aged between 40 and 60, were shot and hacked to death and several others were wounded during the attack which is believed to be related to faction fighting in the area. Fifteen huts were burnt down and villagers were fleeing the area on Wednesday. IFP spokesperson Blessed Gwala said in Durban on Wednesday that the party is outraged. “At a time in our history when the country talks peace, this kind of killing and the damage of property is truly tragic and unacceptable,” he said.
