MOROCCO WON’T WITHDRAW 2006 BID

MOROCCO, in a move to reaffirm its bid to stage the 2006 World Cup, said on Monday it has no plans to withdraw from the competition to host the finals, an official statement said. “Morocco will pursue its campaign to host the World Cup finals in 2006 with self-confidence and calmly,” said the statement. It denied press reports and rumours on a possible withdrawal from the competition in favour of South Africa. Brazil, England and Germany are also in the race to stage the finals.
