HUNGARY, SA SIGN MEMORANDUM

THE justice ministers of South Africa and Hungary have signed a memorandum of understanding to co-operate on legal matters. Penuell Maduna and his visiting Hungarian counterpart Ibolya David, who arrived in South Africa on Tuesday, signed the agreement after bilateral talks in Cape Town. The agreement includes the exchange of legal information and experience. The ministers said they hoped to soon sign a new extradition agreement to replace the existing 1873 one. Ibolya is on a six-day visit to South Africa and is due to leave on Sunday. In January the countries agreed to intensify political co-operation during a visit by Hungarian Political State Secretary for Foreign Affairs Zsolt Nemeth.
