INDONESIAN PRESIDENT LEAVES SA

INDONESIAN President Abdurrahman Wahid left South Africa on Monday at the end of a two-day official visit. Wahid, accompanied by his wife Sinta Nuriyah, was headed for Cancun, Mexico, before travelling on to the G77 Summit in Havana and a meeting with Cuban President Fidel Castro. Over the weekend, Wahid held talks in Pretoria with President Thabo Mbeki before meeting various delegations of South Africans. He was later entertained at a reception hosted by the Indonesian ambassador. After the G77 summit, Wahid is due to visit Hong Kong and Japan before returning to Jakarta on April 17.
