SA BOXER TO FIGHT LIVE ON NET

ZOLILLE Mbityi will become the first boxer in the world to have a world title fight shown live exclusively on the internet. Mbityi defend his IBO flyweight world title on April 13 in London and the bout, which is being promoted by Frank Maloney and the fightnight website, could cause a revolution in the broadcast of sport as we know it. Till now the live broadcast of sport’s event have been determined by television networks and to a lesser degree radio. Real.com and Real Player will be used to distribute the live video and sound. Talkpoint radio will supply live commentary for the fight. This will be Mbityi’s first defence of the world title which he won in Poland in October last year. His opponent in London is the tough Argentine boxer, Sandro Oviedo. Fightnight are hoping to broadcast one world title fight a month initially and then expand to the situation of broadcasting one fight a week. Those interested in watching this historic first fight on the web or want more details can log in at www.fightnight.com.
