SOUTH Africa’s Elana Meyer will travel to the USA on Monday for her fourth attempt at winning the Boston Marathon, the only US city marathon still eluding Meyer. Meyer has won all the major road races on the USA circuit, and will be hoping to break the Boston hoodoo when she joins a top-class field on April 17 for the 104th running of the world’s most prestigious marathon. Meyer will once again be up against a formidable field, including three time winner and Olympic Champion Fatuma Roba from Ethiopia. Also lining up will be the most consistant winner over the last few years on the USA road circuit, Catherine Ndereba of Kenya, as well as fellow Kenyan Lornah Kiplagat, China’s Sun Yingjie and former New York winner Anuta Catuna of Romania.
