FIVE players from the 1999 title-winning squad make their return to the South African Under-21 rugby squad that will travel to New Zealand in June to defend the SANZAR/UAR crown. Blue Bulls prop Eduard Coetzee, Free State winger Wylie Human and flanker Hendro Scholtz, Natal flyhalf Butch James and Border lock Bandile Ncunyana were amongst six players from the 1999 winning squad who were in contention for places in the 28-strong group named by Selection Convenor, Francois Davids today. The squad, which will gather in Cape Town for a week-long training camp on 22 May, is captained by Golden Lions flank Wikus van Heerden. Van Heerden was a member of the SA Under-19 squad that took part in the 1998 FIRA Junior World Championship and also played for a SA Development XV against Namibia earlier this year.
