KERRY Bee scored a stinging equaliser in the dying minutes to give South Africa’s hockey women a 2-2 draw against Argentina at the Champions Trophy at Amstelveen in Amsterdam on Wednesday. The Pumas led 2-0 at the break in a fast-paced game that the Argentines dominated in the first half. Laura Maiztegui opened the scoring with a penalty corner in the 11th minute and Vanina Oneto hammered in a penalty strike in the 27th minute for a 2-0 lead. The South Africans fought back strongly, however, and scored twice against an Argentine team that looked like it was running out of steam. Pietie Coetzee — who has more than 100 international goals to her name — scored off a penalty corner in the 46th minute, while Bee slammed in the equaliser just two minutes before the end of the match. The South Africans face Australia on Thursday evening.
